Consumption and Use
1. Is it safe to eat coconut oil directly?
Coconut Oil is a food it's not a medicine, coconut oil is extracted from fresh coconut milk from fresh coconuts. Coconut oil is the same as eating Gata or coconut milk. If you are allergic to coconut milk or gata, please consult your dietitian or physician for expert medical opinion
2. What is the recommended intake of virgin coconut oil?
It is recommended to take 2 to 3 tablespoons after a meal.
For children or adults, who are not comfortable eating pure oil start with 1 teaspoon or 1 tablespoon after meals. When comfortable increase to 2-3 tablespoons.
If a child or adult has any allergy or pre-existing condition please consult your physician.
3. Is Virgin Coconut oil good for cooking and frying?
Yes, it will give a slight coconut aroma to the dish.
4. Can I make cookies and cakes with coconut oil instead of butter or oil?
Yes, coconut oil is great as a fat replacer for baking, cooking, etc. Use a 1:1 ratio – for every 1 teaspoon of butter, use 1 teaspoon of coconut oil. For 1 tablespoon of butter, use 1 tablespoon of oil.
Characteristics of Cocolicious VCO
1. Is there a difference between Virgin and Extra Virgin Coconut Oil?
There really is no difference in terms of overall contents of its fatty acids. The lauric acid content has more or less the same content in pure coconut oil. The use of extra virgin for coconut oil is not yet defined by any industry or national standards. It is used loosely by marketers as it suits them.
2. What is the difference between virgin coconut oil and MCT Oil or Liquid coconut oil?
They are very different. To start with virgin coconut oil is an all natural food and has the most lauric content 45-50%. MCT Oil and liquid coconut oil are synthesized oils using coconut as raw material but they don’t use all the contents only fractions that pure coconut oil has to offer. 3. How does the taste of Cocolicious taste compare with other brands?
Cocolicious VCO has a pleasant light coconut taste and mild coconut aroma.
VCO derived from dry process or from drying of the coconut meat tend to have a burnt taste or "bucayo"-like taste (a Philippine coconut delicacy) which comes from cooking or heating coconut meat.
In the end, the tastes of different VCOs is a result of different processes from different producers.
How is Cocolicious VCO produced?
1. How is your virgin coconut oil produced?
Our Virgin Coconut Oil is produced by the following steps: Coconut meat is taken from fresh mature coconuts. Coconut milk is extracted coconut meat without any heat (Cold pressed). Virgin Coconut Oil is extracted by centrifuge without adding any heat from coconut cream until all moisture is removed from the oil.
2. Is there heat applied in the processing?
We use what is called a wet process where we extract our oil from coconut cream from fresh coconuts. We do not add any heat to any part of the process.
3. Is it refined, bleached or deodorized?
Our virgin coconut oil DOES NOT undergo any of this process step.
4. Is Virgin Coconut Oil your primary product of process?
Yes, virgin coconut oil com is our primary product of our process – meaning all the oil coming from the coconut meat is used to produce the oil, our raw coconut material is not a by or co product of a desiccated coconut process.
5. Where are your Coconuts grown? How are they cared for?
Our coconuts are grown and harvested in coconut farms by the waters of the Moro gulf, a pristine sea untarnished by development. Saltwater, as a natural fertilizer, provides the electrolyte requirement for the soil to grow productive coconut trees.
6. Are your coconuts grown without harmful chemicals and harmful fertilizers?
Yes, our farmer partners practice sustainable farming because its matter of survival.
7. Is the coconut oil made from fresh coconuts, not dried copra?
Yes, we use only freshly harvested mature 10-12 month old coconuts which contain a lot of oil.
8. Do you use any animal testing on your products?
No, we do not.
How to store VCO?
1. How do you store properly?
Keep away from sunlight, just store at room temperature, always keep the bottle or jar closed.
2. Does pure Coconut Oil turn solid when the temperature cools?
Pure Coconut oil changes from liquid to solid at around 24-26 Celsius or 74-76 F. This appearance at said temperatures is one proof that the coconut oil you have is pure and unadulterated.
3. How do I make my solid coconut oil into liquid?
The easiest way to do this if you only want a small amount is to put it in a bowl and put the bowl in a “warm bath”. (put the coconut oil bowl in another bowl that is filled with warm water).
4. How do I make my liquid coconut oil into a solid?
Keep the jar in a cool place or in a refrigerator.
What are the health benefits of VCO?

4. What are the side effects?
For some first time users taking coconut oil it may cause LBM. LBM is actually a good sign of detoxing, where all the toxins, pathogens in the stomach are expelled.
Drink water to hydrate. If LBM is prolonged, discontinue the coconut oil.
Some experience slight nausea for first time intake. Its best to take coconut oil immediately after a meal.
5. Is your virgin coconut oil cosmetic grade?
Yes it's both food grade and cosmetic grade. It is an excellent carrier oil and ingredient for natural cosmetic products because of its medium chain fatty acids, excellent skin absorption feature, and anti microbial feature as it interacts with the skin.
